Both my father and grandfather were craftsmen, and from a young age, I observed the art of creating things by hand. In many cases, achieving the final finishing touches using machines can be incredibly challenging. The intricate aspects are often handled by a craftsman's "intuition" and "experience." Drawn to their exceptional technical skills, I was inspired to create objects that would honor their legacy.

My first conscious encounter with watches was during a visit to France after graduating from university. I remember a souvenir watch I saw in a hotel in Paris, and it left a lasting impression due to its beauty.

That allure stayed with me, and as I delved into watches upon returning home, I became captivated by their charm. Since then, I've held onto the aspiration of one day creating beautiful watches myself.

Handcrafting is a very time-consuming process. Each individual piece has its distinctions, and the truth is, creating identical items is extremely challenging.

However, I believe this is where the beauty of handcrafting lies. Just as people are unique, each watch possesses its own personality, becoming an exceptional and one-of-a-kind piece for those who view and use it. Achieving this level of uniqueness is a daunting task in mass production.

In a world overflowing with commodities, acquiring various items has become easy. Yet, on the flip side, obtaining something truly one's own has become increasingly difficult.

Handmade craftsmanship not only allows us to deliver a truly unique watch to our customers but also imparts a sense of warmth, as each component is created with care and dedication.

私の父と祖父はともに職人で、幼いころより手で物を作るという技を見てきました。機械では最終的な仕上げを行うのがとても難しい場合があります。その難しい部分を職人の「感覚」や「経験」によって行います。その卓越した技術力に強く惹かれ、先人に恥じない物作りをしようと思いました。

私が時計を初めて意識したのは大学卒業後の、フランスへ訪れているときでした。

パリ市内にあるホテルで見たお土産用の時計でしたが、とても美しかったのを今も覚えています。

その美しさが忘れられず、帰国後に時計について調べているうちに時計の魅力に取りつかれて、いつか自分でも美しい時計を作りたいと今日に至るまで思い続けてきました。

手作業と言うのは非常に時間がかかります。

一つ一つの個体にも差があり、全く同じものを作ることは非常に難しいのが実際のところです。

ただ、私はそこが手作業ならではの良い点であるとも考えています。

人が一人一人異なるように、時計も一つ一つに個性があり、見る人や使う人にとって唯一無二の時計になる。これは大量生産の物ではとても難しいことです。

たくさんの物が溢れている世の中は、いろんな物がすぐに手に入ります。しかしその反面、自分だけのものを手に入れることはとても難しくなっています。

手作りの技は、お客様にとって唯一の時計をお届けすることができるのと同時に、一つ一つのパーツに心を込めて作業しているので温もりも伝えられると思っています。

During my high school years, I came across an astronomical instrument called an astrolabe. I was amazed by its precision and the level of craftsmanship involved.

I began to envision a future where I could work in a profession that allowed me to create such remarkable objects.

Amidst these thoughts, I encountered mechanical watches that demanded even greater precision and higher levels of craftsmanship. The knowledge and skills passed down by those who came before me left a profound impact.

It would be my great pleasure to share the knowledge and expertise cultivated by those who came before us with a wider audience.

私は高校生の時代にアストロラーベという天文学の道具に出会いました。その精密さ、加工精度に感動しました。
